We hope these pages will help to answer any questions you may have regarding your stay with us, but please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you can’t find what you need!

WHAT ARE YOUR BOOKING TERMS?

We look forward to receiving your booking, and welcoming you to Dove Meadows. We do ask that our guests check through our booking guidance and terms and conditions, before committing to their booking, to make sure they have become fully acquainted with our site, to manage any expectations you may have.

Please find these here: Site Guidelines ~ Terms and Conditions ~ Dog Code of Conduct

WHAT IS A ‘QUIET SITE’?

Well, it is, just that! We pride ourselves on being able to offer our guests a peaceful stay. This means we ask all guests to be courteous to their neighbours by keeping noise to a minimum, particularly early in the morning and late at night. These guidelines are not in place in an attempt to restrict your holiday enjoyment, but more to increase it! Therefore, our wardens will politely remind guests if noise is causing a disturbance to others.

ARE CHILDREN WELCOME?

Of course! We love welcoming children to site and are very happy to do so, having hosted many happy and returning families over the years. However, this is on the strict understanding that we have no play area, or play facilities, so cycling or games can’t be played on site. This is for your child’s safety as there is constant vehicular movement. We also ask they are appropriately accompanied at all times. If these guidelines don’t suit your family’s needs, then we may not be your ideal choice of holiday location. This information is available to all customers at point of booking via our booking form.

DO YOU ACCEPT DOGS?

Yes we do! We love dogs! Dogs are free of charge, but as a small site we are unable to provide an exercise or toileting area, but we are literally a stones throw from the marsh and the beach (please note the main beach has some summer restrictions during peak hours, but the dog friendly section is just a little further along) We do have a dog code of conduct that we ask our humans to help their dogs to follow. Please see this in full here: Dove Meadows, Marazion: Dog Code of Conduct for Owners

CAN I ARRIVE EARLY?

We get asked this a lot! The shortest answer is unfortunately, no. But we will always do our best to help where ever we can.

Here’s why: we are a really small site, so we have no holding area, or parking area. Your pitch will be occupied until 12 midday, and then once the previous guests leave, we have a valuable window of time to do the ‘change-over’ – mowing, cutting, strimming, cleaning, restocking and maybe, just maybe, a spot of lunch! Then we will have the site pristine and ready for your arrival at 2pm.

You can find a car park in Marazion just at the end of Green Lane, which can accommodate a short or long stay, and long vehicles in the field section. The link is: www.stmichaelsmount.co.uk/getting-here/carparks

CAN I BOOK WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS?

Yes of course! We will always do out best to accommodate family and friend groups so they can be close to, or next to each other, but regrettably this isn’t always possible. However we cannot accept large/party groups.

To make a booking with family or friends, each pitch requirement will need to fill out a separate booking enquiry. We cannot accept one booking for several pitches and do not accept bookings on behalf of others.

CAN I BOOK A SPECIFIC PITCH?

Your booking secures you a pitch for your requested requirements. We are regrettably unable to promise certain pitches*, and we reserve the right to amend our pitch allocation to optimise availability to allow all our guests to enjoy a holiday with us. However, we appreciate that some of our loyal customers have certain preferences, and we will always try our hardest to honour these where possible.

*From 2023, we are pleased to announce that the River Pitches numbers 20-26 are now fully requestable, subject to availability. You will be informed at booking if there is one available. A specific numbered pitch may be requested, but not guaranteed. The price of these pitches is marginally higher than the others on site, to allow for these requests.

CAN I HAVE VISITORS?

Yes! We welcome you to have visitors to site, but please respectively acknowledge that your visitors are not an entitlement of your booking and are welcomed on-site as our guests. Please be mindful when inviting your visitors to site, and we advise only one visiting car per pitch. (If the pitch occupant already has an extra car, then we cannot accept a visiting car also.)

We request visiting guests to vacate the site by 10pm, unless they wish to stay overnight in which case they must book in as a Dove Meadows guest. The site reserves the right to ask visitors to leave at any time, or decline entry.

Car parking is difficult as we are such a small site. There may be times that we request visitors to park off-site and enter on foot.

A charge is applicable for visitors cars. Visitors must park only in the pitch of the customer they have come to visit, not obstructing any other pitch. There is no additional parking for cars elsewhere on site. The car park on the seafront can be used as an alternative.

We are very grateful for your understanding and co-operation.

CAN I BOOK EXTRAS?

Yes, but these are reviewed on a pitch by pitch and suitability basis, depending on your current booking. We can host up to 6 persons in one pitch.

We recommend one accommodation type per pitch. Where caravans and tents are booked, the booking includes one car. Unfortunately, we cannot accept any further vehicles with these bookings as we do not have a separate parking area and the site can become too congested with extra vehicles.

Campervan and motorhome bookings do not include a car, but an extra car can be added if required, to be parked within the pitch.

Pup tents and gazebos are allowed as as long as they are within the pitch and booked in prior to your stay.

CAN WE HAVE A CAMPFIRE/FIREPIT?

Unfortunately, no.

We are a leafy site, so no naked flames can be allowed on-site. They also pose a risk due to close vehicle contact and smoke disturbance to other guests.

CAN WE HAVE A BBQ?

Absolutely! That’s what the camping life is all about, but we ask they are raised from the ground (we supply blocks) and extinguished safely once your food is cooked.

Please note seagulls can be a nuisance, so please never feed them, and refrain from leaving rubbish bags out over night as they will tear them and create a lot of mess!

DO YOU SELL GAS?

We don’t sell gas on site and don’t have an exchange service. We can offer a few suggestions of places to try (please enquire at the office).

I’M HAVING TO MOVE PITCHES, WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

At peak times, we are incredibly full and may offer you the opportunity to accept different pitches in order to accommodate your stay with us. This means that each pitch is classed as a new booking, and is subject to the booking terms of each individual pitch. Check out is 12 so your next pitch may not be available until this time. We will do as much as we can to accommodate your moving and of course, every attempt will be made to correlate your bookings so that moves are minimised, but this is not always possible.

WE’VE BOOKED ELECTRIC HOOK UP – WHAT DO WE NEED?

If an electric pitch has been booked, you will have access to a 10amp outdoor socket. You will need a camping/caravanning/moho cable. These have a male end and a female end. One end plugs into the socket, and the other into your van. If you are tenting, you will need this cable, along with a 3point plug adaptor.

WHAT FACILITIES DO YOU HAVE ONSITE?

We are a small site, but hope to have everything you will need on your holiday. For full details of the facilities we offer, please see here: www.dovemeadows.co.uk/facilities-on-site/
